Finally I got my iPad 2 Wifi+3G running on iOS 5.0.1 jailbroken. It was so simple. Because I have the latest version iTunes on my PC and my iDevice – iPad Wifi+3G – is already running iOS 5.0.1 all I needed was to download Greenpois0n Absinthe 0.2 for Windows. The rest is to follow the jailbreak process initiated by Greenpoison Absinthe. Note that for Cydia to be installed on you iDevice after tapping the icon named “Absinthe” you MUST be connected to the internet. During the last process, I had few instances where after tapping the Absinthe icon on the homescreen of my iDevice it returns to a black screen with a message “Absinthe is setting things up, please stand by…”, all i had to do is to keep restarting the jailbreaking process. After 2 failed tries the 3rd process worked.

STEP 1: Backup your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch and restore it using the iOS 5.0.1 or 5.0 IPSW file downloaded above.
STEP 2: Plug in your iPhone 4S or iPad 2 you want to jailbreak.
STEP 3: Now open GreenPois0n Absinthe and make sure that your device is detected then hit the jailbreak button as shown.
STEP 4: Now you’ll see “Restoring in Progress”, you should wait for few minutes. Once done, get on your iPhone and you’ll find an icon named “Absinthe”, hit it and this will open greenpois0n.com which will install Cydia on your device replacing the Absinthe icon as shown.
