With the goal of fostering research, education, and implementation of Artificial Intelligence in Africa, an Artificial Intelligence Research Centre has launched in Cotonou, Benin Republic.
Founded in March 2018, Atlantic AI Labs™ is attempting to unleash the potential of AI for sustainable development in healthcare, precision agriculture, education, unmanned aerial vehicles, clean energy, environmental protection, and wildlife conservation.
“Our goal is to develop globally competitive AI talent in Africa and create solutions that improve people’s lives and health,” says Joel Amoussou, Founder and Director, Atlantic AI Labs™.
Amoussou, who has over 23 years of experience in providing consulting services to Fortune 500 companies in the US and Canada, is a member of the US-based Association for the Advancement of Artificial Intelligence and the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics.
Atlantic AI Labs™ will also promote mathematics education and offer AI Research Fellowship and Residency Programs in collaboration with African universities.
